SPANISH I
GRADES 9-12          1 CREDIT      COURSE #5011

This course is an introduction to the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, with an emphasis on oral communication. Students will be introduced to facts and concepts regarding the countries and people of the Spanish-speaking world. This course can be used for a Regents sequence.

SPANISH II
GRADES 10-12           1 CREDIT     COURSE #5021

This course includes further development of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. Practical application of the language is stressed and culture study is continued through art analysis of art and literature. This course can be used for a Regents sequence.

SPANISH III REGENTS
GRADES 11-12          1 CREDIT      COURSE #5031

Prerequisite:  Spanish II

In this course, basic skills of levels I and II are developed in depth. The NYS Regents syllabus is followed and students conclude with the Regents examination.

SPANISH IV - CULTURE AND COMMUNICATION
GRADE 11-12         1 CREDIT        COURSE #5041

This course is a post-Regents study of the Spanish language and cultures.  Students continue to study grammar and vocabulary as well as learn more advanced structures.  In addition, culture is emphasized with literature, projects and papers.  Requirement for this class is a passive grade in Spanish III Regents.

 

AP SPANISH -

GRADE 12       1 CREDIT     COURE # 5045

 

This course is designed for students who have taken Spanish - 1- 4 and have a strong aptitude for Spanish.  Advanced grammar and culture are discussed to prepare students for the AP Spanish exam at the end of the course.

FRENCH I
GRADES 9-12        1 CREDIT     COURSE #5111

This course is an introduction to the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, with an emphasis on oral communication. FRENCH II

FRENCH IV - CONVERSATIONAL FRENCH

This course is a post-Regents study of the French language and culture.  Students will continue work on their conversational and listening skills.  In addition, students will study various French works of literature and art.  Requirement for the class is a passing grade in French III Regents.

ITALIAN I
GRADES 9-12        1 CREDIT     COURSE #5311

This course is an introduction to the basic skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, with an emphasis on oral communication.  Students will be introduced to facts and concepts regarding the country and people of Italy.  This course can be used for a Regents sequence.

ITALIAN II

ITALIAN III REGENTS

THROUGH CONVERSATION
