International Club
Description
The International Club meets every Wednesday after school from 2:30-3:30.
Membership is open to all students who wish to expand their knowledge of different cultures.
The International Club strives to meet the following objectives.
Objectives
- To create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world.
- To promote the principles of good government and good citizenship.
- To take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community.
- To unite in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding.
- To provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest.
- To encourage service-minded young men and women to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in school, public works and private endeavors.
- Club members will experience different cultures firsthand by attending performances and events outside of school.
- Students will conduct fundraising events in order to help raise funds for cultural fieldtrips.
- Club members will participate in creating various holiday decorations and greetings for the Albertus Magnus community.
- During the club meetings members will also watch foreign films, listen to music, learn various dances, and take part in discussions and debates on international topics.
The International Club is hosting a soda bread bake off for St. Patrick's Day. Prizes will be awarded! See Ms. Weeks for details. Entry forms are due by Friday, March 9th!
